Beautiful Flowers

Beautiful flowers I do bring,
And loving songs I do sing.

Enchanting views I do see,
Imagination, great for me!

The world would be a better place,
With flowers and songs for each race.

With beauty within one's sight,
How can anyone, ever fight?

With loving songs heard everywhere,
There shall be no reason for despair.

So beautiful flowers, I will bring,
With many loving songs to sing.

Life as Snow

Although my parents had their own home and my father was employed during the Great Depression, I don’t believe there were sufficient extra dollars for a long train journey for my mother to visit her family and friends in Mexico. She was very lonely! As well, by 1937, there were three young children to care for and that would have posed a number of problems for travel by train, which at that time would have taken several days.
